The Big Question.... of stuff

All I'm curious about:

How is music and mathematics even related?

How did anyone even discover that?

Maybe it ties in with this whole Music Theory stuff?

<if only this sounded a wee bit smarter>

  1. That's a good question. Who was seriously bored enough that they had to sit down one day and figure out math, and make our lives miserable? -.-' It's freaky how numerology works, though. What if math applies to music in the same way it does to photography with the magic ratio and the rule of thirds? Things that have that ratio are more appealing the the eyes. Maybe there's a mathematical equation or ratio behind a perfect, face-melting guitar solo that is just REALLY pleasant to listen to.

Sorry. 'Wasn't much of an answer. More like answering a question with more questions. -.-'
And you SO sound smart lol.

  2. I'm not so sure about the "perfect, face-melting guitar solo", but I do know that what you're saying makes sense. Also who said our lives are miserable just because someone decided to do this math/music relationship?

Don't apologize! Answered with more questions? Honestly, I think it helps shape and round out my questions. (^^)
